REGISTRATION
RATINGS
The 2026 North Star Classic will use 2025 iPride Player rating guidelines.
ROSTERS
The North Star Classic will utilize Google spreadsheet for all rosters. Coaches will be sent a unique roster form starting in February. After February, teams will receive a link to their roster a few days after the registration was submitted.
Rosters will lock Friday, May 8th, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Please complete by this date so we can verify players' iPride ratings.
Rules
North Star Classic will abide by USA Softball rules, except as modified in the North Star Classic Tournament Rules.
DIVISIONS
The 2026 North Star Classic Softball tournament will use 2025 iPride Softball guidelines for team and player rating caps*.
iPride Softball
- C Division: All teams rated 130 or lower; no players rated above a 14.
- D Division: All teams rated 95 or lower; no players rated above a 10.
- E Division: All teams rated 60 or lower; no players rated above an 6.
- Legends C: All teams rated 130 or lower; no players rated above a 14. Players must be 50 or older, or turn 50 in 2026.
- Legends D: All teams rated 95 or lower; no players rated above a 10. Players must be 50 or older, or turn 50 in 2026.
*Final division breakdown and team assignments are at the discretion of the tournament committee based on the number of teams registered and to create parity where possible.
We will use the 2025 ratings that your league has submitted to iPride or ASANA when verifying rosters.
FIELD LOCATIONS
All North Star Classic games are conveniently located in Eagan, MN, at two separate field complexes. Each complex is only a 25-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis, and only a 5-minute drive between complexes.

Player Inclusion Policy (PIP - formerly ADA)
How to request a PIP
- The requestor must have a medical provider fill out the iPride PIP Physician Form.
- The requestor or team manager should send the completed iPride PIP Physician Form to northstar@tcgsl.org by Friday, May 16.
- Upon submission of the form signed off by a provider, we will provide you with a PIP card in your manager packet.
- Managers must indicate PIP players on the line-up cards by placing an asterisk (*) next to the player's name.
- Managers must present the PIP card to the umpire before each game.
Tournament Rules
- This tournament cannot support the request for a runner from home plate.
- At the beginning of the game, a player with a PIP accommodation can choose to use a designated runner for each at bat.
- The player must indicate the use of the designated runner at the end of their at bat.
- The designated runner must be the last recorded out.
- If it is the first inning and no outs have been recorded, the designated runner will be the last batter in the submitted lineup.
- The PIP player can only advance to first base on a hit, unless they hit an out-of-the-park home run.
